Well, I haven't written anything for about two weeks, so I guess I should. Classes are going well (I hope so anyway, I haven't actually gotten any graded assignments back yet). I am actually greatly enjoying Elang 223- Introduction the the English Language. Basically it is a linguistics course. I am an English major currently, but I would like to study linguistics more-I already told my roommate that if I ever have a chance to get a Master's degree I would probably like to get it in linguistics. It's kind of funny, I didn't even know what linguistics was when I was younger, but my oldest sister was interested in it. In fact she did a major paper her senior year in high school on the differences between American English and British English. She ended up a nursing major and I, who started out as an International Relations major am now the one interested in linguistics. Of course, I also want to minor in Editing which is a minor in the linguistics deparement.
Speaking of Lynness, last I heard from her was that her backyard was saturated and part of her ward had to be evacuated from a nearby apartment complex, but she had nothing to worry about really. It is amazing how much damage a hurricane can do even two hours inland.
When Heather was visiting me last month she told me that she was getting to know Lynness better. They never really knew each other because Lynness was seven years older than her and there were two sisters in between. I told her I envied her. Gayle and I knew each other very well, same with Heather and I . However, I honestly do not know Lynness very well. Of course, I know she is strange (you should have seen her nuzzling the stuffed vulture Nathan gave her the Christmas before she married him) but I guess I still feel like there are people who know a whole lot more about who she is than I do. In fact, I would not be surprised if BigRedHammer knew more about her than I did.
I think I have somewhat (e.g. significantly) strayed from my original topic.
But, alas, I must actually do the homework now for these classes that I claim to enjoy. I have to finish reading Oedipus Rex by 7 o'clock. Dontcha just love those evening classes?

At the time when she lived here, I may have known Lynness pretty well. But she's married now and been away for quite awhile. I'm sure she's changed and evolved a lot since I knew her. Having a child has to change you.
